Shortly after 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, an alert was issued by the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department when crews responded to the 14800 block of Willard Road, where there were reports of a two-inch gas line that was struck.

HazMat units were called, and Washington Gas responded, where they found that it was, in fact, an eight-inch gas line that was struck.

The incident led to Willard Road being closed between Lee Road and Stonecroft Boulevard, and officials say that crews will be in the area "for an undetermined amount of time."
